West Bengal, being a densely populated state, required employment oriented education of a massive dimension for channelising the youth energy to constructive and productive work. To meet this challenge, Government of West Bengal in the Technical Education & Training Department have taken steps to introduce and expand Vocational Education & Training (VET) Programme throughout the length and breadth of the State.

West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education & Training, set-up under West Bengal Act VII of 2005 is striving hard for ensuring quality while matching the need of expansion. Need based courses have been introduced and concerted efforts are in progress for development of study materials. The website of Council will definitely help the teachers, student and other stakeholders of the system to get and share updated information of VET programme.
